Situated in the Staffordshire countryside two miles from the Derbyshire border Hartley Woods is a place of peace and tranquillity. It is an ideal place to relax or to explore the many attractions of the area; historic houses, gardens and churches, canals, steam railways, walks in the Staffordshire Moorlands and peak District, pleasure parks and numerous pubs and restaurants. Staffordshire has them all.

The grounds are varied with over sixty species of trees and an abundance of wildlife and our herd of Red Deer have been with us for more than twenty five years.

Accommodation

Eight single, twin and family rooms can accommodate up to fifteen guests at a time. The rooms are centrally heated with en suite facilities and all have access to the gardens through patio doors.

Rooms are provided with television, tea and coffee making facilities and hair dryers.

For the disabled there are ramps to all outside doors and wheelchairs have access to all areas within the building.

The sitting room has comfortable seating for fifteen and supplementary seating is available when necessary; the television will take video cassettes and DVDs and there is a wood burning fire for those stay-at-home winter nights.

The dining room will seat twenty five.

The summer house provides a quiet space for reading, writing, playing indoor games or just chatting or enjoying the peace. It is double glazed and fully insulated.

Continental breakfast comprises:  fruit juices, fruit, assorted cereals, home made bread and rolls and conserves, home made muffins, yoghurts, tea, coffee etc. We try to accommodate all tastes.

How to Find Us

(Five miles north of the A50). Leave the A50 midway between the M1 (junction 24A) and the M6 (junction 15). Taking the B5030 Ashbourne road from Uttoxeter, after three miles turn left (by JCB) into (marked) Station Road leading to Hollington Road - Hartley Woods is one mile on the right.
